Our client designs the world’s first autonomous remote sensing solution for gas leaks in the chemical industry. Their goal is to define a new standard for gas emission monitoring as we head toward a climate neutral chemical industry. They build their own optical sensors and software, based on FTIR spectroscopy, capable of analyzing chemicals in the air at a 1+ km distance. Their solutions run autonomously, 24/7, providing complex automatic situation assessment. They are well funded and now looking for new team members to help them scale up.
TASKS
Your job is to analyze hyperspectral image data from our customers on a regular basis, draw
conclusions, and define new methodologies to analyze and report findings to our customers. A big
part of your job is prototyping new analytical methods and working closely with our software
development team to bring your ideas into production-quality software. You will work together on a
regular basis with experts in large multinational chemical companies to align our product
development with real world problems.
Your responsibilities:
- Analyze spectroscopic measurement data (hyperspectral images)
- Report on the emission profiles of the monitored facilities on customer demand
- Design and conduct experimental studies
- Prototype new analytical methods in close cooperation with our software development team
REQUIREMENTS
- Physicist, engineer or chemist with 3+ years working experience or equivalent
- Very comfortable in Python (pandas, numpy, matplotlib etc.) and SQL
- Can communicate both your ideas and scientific concepts well to engineers and product owners
- Ideally an expert in (FTIR) spectroscopy or remote sensing
- Nice to have: experience or desire to learn and work with Jupyter notebooks, Git, Google
- Cloud, software engineering principles, deep learning and neural networks
- Fluent in English
BENEFITS
- A job with real purpose – your findings help reduce emissions of hazardous gases, preventaccidents and to enable the zero-emission target in the chemical industry
- A vibrant startup culture with new and cutting-edge products, small teams, flat hierarchies, frequent collaboration, continual new challenges, and high ownership over projects
- Skill development in programming and software engineering
- A “learning budget” for books, courses, or other resources relevant to your role
- Challenging projects for a growing list of nationally and internationally renowned customers
- Home office and flexible working hours (although we love to get together)
- Beautiful offices in Berlin X-berg
- We are an explicitly family-friendly company
